Young leaders propose new policies to tackle environmental and healthcare issues

Young leaders and students have put forward innovative policies to address pressing environmental and healthcare issues the country is facing now. Those policies came at a two-day long program titled ‘Co-Create 2071’ held at the central auditorium of Jagannath University (JnU). Preneur Lab Youth and Innovation Trust in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy PDS organized the program, which started on Saturday morning and ended on Monday evening.

Jagannath University Treasurer Professor Dr. Kamaluddin, Professor Dr. Moniruzzaman of Geography and Environment Department of JnU, the U.S. Embassy’s Education Outreach Coordinator Mr. Sohel Iqbal and Liam M. Gardiner of the Public Diplomacy Section, among others, addressed the program.

Speakers attending the event said, the youth are the driving force behind positive change, and their innovative ideas can shape the future of our nation. Collaborative efforts between academia, government, and civil society are crucial to addressing environmental and healthcare challenges.

They said that Co-Create 2071 provides a platform for young leaders to exchange ideas and create sustainable solutions for a better future.

The primary objective of the program was to involve the youth, the future decision-makers, in interactive sessions and policy recommendations. The workshop featured thematic discussions and panel sessions, focusing on “Environment Initiatives” on the first day and “Improving Healthcare for All” on the second day.

Ashraful Tanvir, Head of Operations at Preneur Lab, provided valuable guidance to the participants on various workshop-related topics. He also facilitated a policy recommendation workshop where participants suggested policy changes.

Among others, Ayreen Khan, the Founder of the iCan Foundation, Nafizur Rahman, Principal Research Officer at the Housing and Building Research Institute, Tania Wahab, Managing Partner of Karigar, Zahid Hossain Khan, Project Researcher and Communication Manager at Voice of Bangladesh, Shekh Moinul Khokon, President of Human Aid Bangladesh, Dr. Nowsheen Purabi, the Founder of Dr. Purabi’s Help Desk, Rahat Hossain, Co-founder of Ayat Care and Sikder Rituparna, Marketing and Communication Manager at Preneur took different sessions in the two-day long program.

Distinguished presenters and panelists, including alumni of U.S. State Department exchange programs and field experts, shared their insights during these sessions. Participants from different departments of Jagannath University attended the event.
